SANC ESG

SANC's promise for a healthy future

SANC's story of coexisting with nature

SANC has about 11 reservoirs. These reservoirs go beyond simply storing water,
embodying SANC's philosophy of coexistence with nature.

The lakes and reservoirs within the food complex are
designed to restore natural ecosystems and preserve biodiversity.

The lake with rising mist regulates the microclimate within the complex,
providing a pleasant environment, and harmoniously blends with the
green forests around the reservoirs to create a picturesque landscape.

SANC's reservoirs and lakes are loved by local residents
and employees as spaces for rest and healing.
Moreover, they are becoming symbolic places that embody
SANC's story of creating a sustainable future while breathing with nature.

The image of SANC, where nature, people,
and the company blend together,
is itself the practice of ESG philosophy that respects
the environment and prepares for the future.

  • Creating social value
  • Sustainable management
  • Education and promotion

ECO-PRESERVATION

Lakes and reservoirs contribute to the restoration of natural ecosystems
and enhance local biodiversity. They regulate the microclimate within
the complex and create a sustainable environment through water circulation,
providing residents with a place for rest and education, creating opportunities
to experience coexistence with nature.

SOCIAL VALUE

We provide eco-friendly spaces for employees and local residents to enjoy rest
and leisure. These spaces help relieve stress and promote health, and also play a role
in sustainable development. Additionally, they create a friendly environment for communication with the local community, promoting exchange and
cooperation among residents.

ECO-MANAGEMENT

As a space designed according to ESG management philosophy, we practice responsible corporate management. We secure sustainability for future generations through efficient
use of resources and the establishment of eco-friendly infrastructure.
In addition, we strengthen cooperation with the local community to create an
environment where everyone grows together.

EDUCATE & PROMOTE

It is possible to operate educational and experiential programs that raise awareness
about environmental protection and sustainability, and can be used as a representative example to widely promote ESG values. Furthermore, it can be expanded as a
cooperative model in which the local community and companies participate together.

    Shinangchon Food, from small innovations
for carbon reduction to ESG management

Shinangchon Food's beverage factory considers the environment from the beginning to the end of product production. At its core is the direct production of PET bottles. Most companies purchase and transport PET bottles externally, but Shinangchon Food strengthens its cost competitiveness by reducing external purchase costs and logistics costs through in-house production.

However, it doesn't stop here. The direct production of PET bottles is not just about cost reduction, but leads to environmental protection activities that dramatically reduce carbon emissions from logistics transportation. By not transporting PET bottles, we eliminate the carbon dioxide emitted from numerous transport vehicles annually, which leads to sustainable management.

In this way, Shinangchon Food practices corporate social responsibility through eco-friendly management and realizes ESG management with the belief that "small changes for the earth make a big difference." We will continue our efforts to consider the environment and the future.

  • Rooftop PV power station since 2013
    for environmental protection
    and profit generation

SANC Energy completed the construction of its rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power station in June 2013 and started commercial power generation. SANC Energy's first PV power station operates a 1.83MW PV power station by installing 5,600 solar modules on a 326.3 m by 72.9 m factory building. This factory building was used as an export base that produced Shinangchon blankets and underwear in the 1970s, and had received two Order of Industrial Service Merit honors (i.e., Iron Tower, Tin Tower).

The most important factors in evaluating the economic feasibility of PV power generation are the amount of solar radiation and the wind that cools the temperature of the solar panels. The location of SANC Energy's first PV power station has been evaluated as an ideal site for PV power generation due to its abundant solar radiation and its proximity to mountains and the sea, which provides plenty of wind. SANC Energy's first PV power station produces 2,406MW of electricity annually, which can be used by 668 households (based on a family of four using 360KW per month), sells all of it to KEPCO, and this electricity is supplied to nearby areas. This PV power station reduces about 1,020 tons of carbon dioxide annually, which is equivalent to the carbon dioxide reduction effect of planting 367,500 young pine trees.

Furthermore, since the rooftop PV power station uses existing buildings, there is no damage to nature, and it also helps lower the temperature inside the factory during extreme heat, resulting in even greater energy-saving effects. SANC plans to pursue the construction of additional PV power station using buildings located within its premises in the future.
